- You know your WiFi network name (SSID) and password
- You have access to a phone, tablet, or computer to visit vizio.com/setup
- Your Vizio account email and password are ready — or you’re prepared to create a new account

Picture Mode Selection
Choosing the right picture mode during initial configuration has a significant impact on your everyday viewing experience. Here’s what each option means:Vivid
Vivid mode cranks up brightness, contrast, and color saturation to make the screen pop — especially in brightly lit showrooms. While eye-catching in the store, Vivid mode often looks oversaturated and harsh in a typical home environment, particularly in dimmer rooms.Standard
Standard mode offers a balance between brightness and color accuracy. It’s a safe choice for rooms with moderate ambient lighting and works well as a neutral starting point you can fine-tune manually.Calibrated
Calibrated mode is designed to match industry-standard color accuracy (close to the Rec. 709 color space used in broadcast and streaming content). It renders colors and contrast closer to what directors and cinematographers intended. Most home theater enthusiasts and professional reviewers recommend Calibrated mode as the best everyday setting.Calibrated Dark
Calibrated Dark is similar to Calibrated but reduces backlight intensity further, making it ideal for darker rooms or evening viewing. It minimizes glare and reduces eye strain when ambient light is low.Game Mode
Game mode reduces input lag to its minimum, which is critical for responsive gaming. It sacrifices some color processing in exchange for lower latency. Switch to Game mode whenever you connect a gaming console for the best experience.Completing Activation at vizio.com/setup
