How to Activate Your Vizio TV

Power On Your Vizio Smart TV

If You Miss the PIN If the PIN disappears or expires before you enter it at vizio.com/setup, don’t worry. Your TV generates a new PIN automatically after the timeout. The screen refreshes with a fresh code. Enter the new PIN promptly at vizio.com/setup to complete activation.

Activation Troubleshooting

If something goes wrong during the activation process, the solutions below resolve the most common issues.
A rejected PIN almost always means the PIN has expired or was entered incorrectly. Return to your TV screen — if the PIN has expired, the TV displays a new one automatically. Re-enter the new PIN at vizio.com/setup immediately. If the PIN is still rejected, confirm there are no typos and that you’re signed in to the correct Vizio account.
First, check that your phone or computer is connected to the internet. Try opening another website to confirm your connection is working. If the site is unreachable, try a different browser or clear your browser’s cache and cookies. You can also try accessing the portal from a different device, such as switching from a phone to a computer, or vice versa.
If your TV skipped the PIN screen, it may already be activated (common on refurbished units) or the setup wizard didn’t run fully. Go to Menu > Help > Reset & Admin > Reset TV to Factory Defaults to restart the setup process from the beginning. After the reset, the wizard runs again and displays the activation PIN after the WiFi connection step.
